What could be better than spending hours or perhaps an entire day in a boat in the waters of Cape Cod, watching the ocean life and catching your dinner? Not to mention the bragging rights when you’ve caught a huge tuna, or half a deck full of beautiful stripers.
Spring brings squid, porgies, scup and sea bass, along with cool weather and seabirds, both coming and going.

Summer is the best time for the bigger fish. Striped bass (stripers) and bluefish start arriving in June and stay into the fall. School tuna and giant bluefin tuna are found from June until at least into November, as are all kinds of sharks including the biggest and baddest – great white sharks. Contact Mike about a combo trip featuring tuna fishing and a trip to Nantucket (June only).
Fall is when the groundfish are easily found – by Captain Mike at least. And, while in other places it is not legal to keep codfish (NMFS rules), on a Magic Charters fishing trip you can keep five (5) cod and unlimited haddock and pollock. The bluefin tuna, both small and large, are still abundant and furiously eating to put on fat before the cold weather comes and they move south. Fall is the best time for both groundfish and bluefin tuna.
Winter is the time for sea ducks. Cape Cod, especially Chatham, is a popular spot for many different kinds of ducks, many of whom spend the entire winter here.
Mike has had many happy customers over the years.
Each year I have fished with Capt. Mike Abdow of Magic Charters. He is a very good captain and a colorful guy to boot… I highly recommend him for bass/blues or tuna. – NJfishing.com
